Solidum Capital is an advisory and investing platform established to work with early stage and middle market companies in order to structure creative debt and equity solutions and assist them in building businesses. Solidum invests both its own capital as well as in partnership with a select group of family offices, high net worth individuals and non-traditional sources of capital.
Mr. Schinderle previously served as a Senior Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of the Special Situations Group at PPM America. While at PPM, Mr. Schinderle co-managed a group that ultimately managed $1.3Bn of distressed and special situation assets across 4 funds. Roughly 25% of the funds under management were deployed in activist distressed situations, and Mr. Schinderle served on multiple informal and formal restructuring committees, as well as serving as a director on various corporate boards.
Mr. Schinderle started his career in corporate finance and merchant banking at Continental Illinois National Bank and Sanwa Business Credit Corporation, serving in various roles including analyst, marketing officer, head of risk for the merchant banking, real estate and corporate finance teams, work-out group head, and founder and head of the Special Investing Group.
Mr. Schinderle graduated from the University of Illinois, Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a minor in Political Science. Mr. Schinderle was a James Scholar and graduated with Departmental Distinction. Mr. Schinderle also holds an MS in Finance from the University of Illinois, Magna Cum Laude, and served as a Teaching Assistant for the Dean of Undergraduate Affairs for the College of Business.
Brian Schinderle serves as Managing Partner and is the founder of Solidum Capital Advisors LLC.
Brian Schinderle has over 20 years of direct buy-side experience in managing fixed income and equity assets in various formats, including hedge funds, market value CLO’s and separately managed accounts. Prior to founding Solidum, Mr. Schinderle was a Portfolio Manager at Balyasny Asset Management (BAM) for roughly 9 years, and ran a fundamental long/short fixed income and equity strategy. Mr. Schinderle employs a deeply fundamental strategy which is very research driven. BAM was a roughly $12.5Bn hedge fund platform at the time of Mr. Schinderle’s departure, and he frequently served on formal or informal restructuring committees.
Prior to Balyasny, Mr. Schinderle served as the co-founder and Managing Partner of Wolf Point Capital Management (WPCM). WPCM was both a long/short credit and equity fund as well as a special situation credit fund.
